The Xfit Reader

I'm recently retired so I have more time for reading and Crossfit. I'll try and blog about both since they are both my favorites.

Tuesday the twister! October 1, 2013

Well I'm happy to say that this day is coming to an end. It started out amazing with my finishing my cute little romance book which was better than expected followed by a rockin good crossfit WOD. Whew! I got my butt kicked! Then I had a great massage with my friend that I hadn't seen in a while.

Following all of this was a fight with current BF which is still pending. Anyway, I'm relaxed after a little alcohol so hopefully the evening goes well.

Monday Sept. 31, 2013

Monday is over!! It was a hell of a crossfit workout full of heavy deadlifts and cardio followed by helping my other mother with her boxes of paperwork. I thought I was unorganized!! lol Actually this might be the start of a new career.

Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to read my books but I did get to listen to some of A Clash of Kings. I love this series!!! Now I'm rewatching Smallville and hanging with my dog, Sofi. :)

Grimm's Grimmest - Jacob Grimm, Wilhelm Grimm, Maria Tatar, Tracy Arah Dockray Wow! It was fun reading these tales in some of the more original forms. Scary, gory and violent. :)
David and Conner - Bobby Michaels Yikes. I pride myself in always finishing a book but I had to fold on this after page 183. I couldn't take some of the sex acts and I was bored to tears. I loved book 1 and 2 of this series.
Total Eclipse - Rachel Caine This was an amazing series. I loved it! There was never a dull moment.
Taste Test: Chocolate and Power Tools I - M. Rode, Vic Winter, Jennifer Joyce, Angel Aww I thought all of these stories were really good. They are centered around Valentine's Day.

Taste Test: Centaurfold - Rob Knight, Kay Derwydd, Fiona Glass, Emily Veinglory I really enjoyed all three of these stories. Centaurs sure are sexy!

Magnetism (Savoy Valley #1) - Aliyah Burke, Taige Crenshaw, McKenna Jeffries Way too many facets to this book that never fit together. The ideas were good but each needed its own book.
All the Windwracked Stars - Elizabeth Bear I tried to listen to this while driving in the car and I just couldn't concentrate enough to make it a good listen. I really didn't like either reader so that didn't help. Maybe I'll try actually reading it next time. I loved the idea of it.
Diary of A Sex Fiend: Girl with A One Track Mind - Abby Lee What a fun read!
Creation of Desire (Desire, Oklahoma, #3) - Leah Brooke I'm actually going with 3.5 stars on this. I was really enjoying it until her attitude got to be too much for me toward the end.
Beat the Reaper (Peter Brown #1) - Josh Bazell, Robert Petkoff Holy wow! Shocking, funny, interesting, romantic and twisted. Who would have thought that a shorter book like this could have it all. I loved it! The reader did a wonderful job as well.
Mele Kalikimaka (Phantom Lover, #9) - A.J. Llewellyn This was a fun story with Kimo, Lopaka and their extended family centered around Christmas. Between the family antics and some hot, group manlove, this story was a fast, fun read.
